Virtools™ Technology Highlighted
at Siggraph 2002 Conference, July 23-25, in San Antonio, TX, USA
at Alias/wavefront's booth # 13085
Siggraph,
the world's annual gathering of the international computer graphic
community, runs from July 21-26, 2002 in San Antonio, Texas, and
Virtools will be announcing the release of the Virtools
Multiuser Pack at the Alias/wavefront booth # 13085.
The Virtools™ Multiuser Pack helps developers
create multiuser applications based on a high performance networking
engine, accessed through Virtools renowned behavior building blocks.
Developers can quickly and easily create both persistent and ad-hoc
multiuser applications simultaneously for several platforms (Mac,
PC, Xbox). Once again, Virtools provides rapid access to sophisticated
technology, allowing developers to concentrate on providing compelling
shared-experience 3D applications with game-like interactivity.
Priam Givord and Martin Lenclos will present their project, NEWYORKEXITNEWYORK©,
made with Virtools Dev 2.0, in the Siggraph Art
Gallery. NEWYORKEXITNEWYORK© is a virtual 3D environment built
out of photographs of New York City. With a joystick controller
one can freely surf a city metaphor in real time 3D and projected
on a giant screen — defying laws of gravity to dive in and
out of space and time, to be part and observer of a new interpretation
of urban patterns like traffic, noise and streetlife of a virtual
city.
