Virtools Technology highlighted in Paris en 3D, a major exhibition at the prestigious Carnavalet Museum in Paris.

Virtools recently empowered a new generation of visual artists to deliver a dynamic virtual experience at the Musée Carnavalet's Paris in 3D exhibit.

The prestigious Musée Carnavalet houses an impressive collection that provides a unique look at the history of Paris. The exhibit leads the audience through a vast selection of images that relay the history of 3D photography. Beginning with 1850's stereoscopic techniques, the visit evokes the depth and beauty of Paris that originally inspired artists to innovate in the area of 3D imagery.

Virtools was one of the cutting edge technologies chosen by the Musée Carnavalet to demonstrate the future of 3D imagery and virtual reality. Virtools collaboration consisted of creating a richly interactive virtual journey through Paris' Pompidou Center Modern Art Museum.

"Virtools is committed to mobilizing authors to deliver powerful multimedia and dynamic content. We are pleased to see how Virtools is reaching beyond conventional applications and actively engaging in a new genre of art. Developers and designers are taking Virtools beyond simple interactions and defining the future of next-generation 3D technology" said Bertrand Duplat, Virtools President and CEO.

During the production process, Virtools technology enabled the author to stick to a tight production schedule while testing different navigation and interactivity options. The development of the interactivity and navigation took only 2 man/days and graphics were completed in only 2 weeks. The museum was extremely satisfied with the project's graphic quality and stability, and rapid production output.

Virtools scripter François Dujardin was responsible for overseeing and managing project production, while 3D models and textures were created by graphic artists Nadir Tazdait and Jean-Francois Rivière. When asked what he found most exciting about working on the project, François Dujardin responded, "We were delighted to see another terrific example of what artists can create using our technology. It's rewarding to know that we're able to provide artists with a new way of expressing themselves and contribute to the development of French cultural life."
