Virtools Software Suite Service Pack 2 is now available for download!
Thanks to regular Service Pack releases, Virtools Dev and its add-on packages are automatically updated to match the latest advancements in real-time 3D technology. In addition to providing bug fixes, Service Pack 2 also offers major new features, including shader support for DirectX 9.0c Shader Model 3.0, improvements to Virtools' user-friendly interface and optimizations to production processes.

Hong Kong University: Effective Simulation-Based Training for Quay Crane Handling

Hong Kong University chose Virtools technology to develop an immersive VR simulation-based training application. The project includes a crane cabin simulator used to train future crane operators to safely handle transport containers. Thanks to Virtools Dev's extensive library of building blocks along with the advanced capabilities offered by Virtools VR Pack, Honk Kong University was able to manage and optimize VR peripheral devices and displays and focus its development efforts on creating highly realistic content for their research and training application.

Sealab 2021: Sweet Mayhem (Cartoon Network)

Mayhem has never been so sweet as the Sealab crew wages battle against Gloops, Bizarros and evil robots with only their wits to protect them. Oh, and a few guns. Lots of guns. The game is based on Sealab 2021, a TV show aired during Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block.

The first American User Day organized at Virtools' Canadian headquarters was a full-blown success. The program included conferences, project presentations from various industries, technical sessions and more… A success to be repeated. A CD-Rom including video recordings of User Day conferences will soon be available.
