Virtools is now 3DVIA VirtoolsSince June 2008, Virtools has changed its name to 3DVIA Virtools. As you may be aware, Virtools joined Dassault Systemes starting in 2005. The name not only reflects the next stage in our integration into Dassault Systemes’ 3DVIA brand but a new phase of investment in the products and services that have you have come to trust and rely on. 3DVIA’s mission is to enable everyone from consumers to professionals to imagine, create and share their ideas in 3D. This vision will be delivered with the Virtools technology as one of its foundations. Real-time 3D can now be used in a wide variety of applications such as experiencing product usage, ergonomic testing, recreating the shopping experience, and training scenarios through to branding, advertising, and web marketing. |

3DVIA Virtools VR Solutions powers the new 6-sided CAVE at University of Quebec in Outaouais (UQO) for Virtual TherapyThe Cyberpsychology Lab of UQO is a research centre affiliated with both the University of Quebec in Outaouais (UQO) and the Pierre-Janet Hospital. Using 3DVIA Virtools technology, the Lab uses virtual reality for the treatment of anxiety disorders, neuropsychological assessment, pain distraction, sexual preferences (e.g. pedophiles), etc. Some applications like Acrophobia aim at assessing the effectiveness of VR exposure to fear of heights in adults as well as spider phobia in children and adults. Other applications use virtual flies as a distraction task for people suffering from physical pain.
