Two New Games from Little Chicken, thanks to Virtools!In association with the car manufacturer BMW, Little Chicken developed the BMW eDrive Challenge 2007. This online 3D racing game offers the possibility of building your own race circuit, defying your friends by email and testing the BMW 1 series’ innovative Efficient Dynamics. LiptonIce 3D Hole in One challenge Little chicken has adapted the Disc Golf game in 3D. The rules are the following: try to put the Frisbee in the basket and increase your points by reaching the interactive elements of the game. With high graphical quality similar with those of a console and a realistic feel as the player makes a bouncing movement when throwing the disc with the mouse, this game is one to discover quickly. |

Virtools presents the Game Development CampThe Game Development Camp (GDC), held at the University of Aalborg in Denmark, is a scientific summer camp for 48 Danish high school students. By letting them use their creativity, technical skills, and the professional development environment of Virtools, GDC gives them the opportunity to develop their own computer game. Each year, GDC finds a new alternative interaction method that the students should use. This year, students will have to use the Nintendo Wii remote control. The students have a week (July 22 – 28) to work in groups of six on a single game project. At the end of the week, students present their game to a professional gaming jury who then announce the winners. All GDC personnel are volunteers from the Danish Youth Association of Science, a non-profit organization. |

Dare to be Digital: sponsored by VirtoolsVirtools is supporting "Dare to be Digital", the UK’s premier video games competition for students who want to design their own video games. Every year between June and August, students form teams of five and compete over 10 weeks to design a fully functioning video game prototype. At the end of the 10 weeks, from 12th - 14th August, all the prototype games developed by the Dare to be Digital contestants will be on display for the public to play. |
