Amaze Mad  The
Virtools Behavior LabThe Virtools Behavior Lab is our in-house development studio. Our team anticipates the needs of our clients and responds with consulting, training and innovative behavioral 3D applications. Game design by Olivier Crozet.  Challenge:
Create a High Quality Online Game in Just Two Months To showcase the potential of Virtools Server Technology, the Behavior Lab created Amaze Mad, a multi-level internet game that allows players to save their progress as they advance through 11 different levels. Amaze Mad is a new 3D twist on the beloved arcade game Pac Man™. You eat up the dots to earn points and acquire valuable keys to unlock doors throughout a 3D labyrinth. The game, which includes a total of 11 levels, was produced by a team of three, over a two months period, and demonstrates the capabilities of the Virtools Web Server Technology.  Solution:
A Small, Focused Team Working With a Common Development ToolTo complete the full game in two months, the Virtools Behavior Lab assembled a three person team, bringing together a game designer, a graphic artist and a Virtools Dev scripter. Production was accelerated by the development process, refining a prototype until it had achieved the desired quality. After only two weeks of work, the game mechanics were up and running, allowing the game designer and graphic artist to fine tune the game levels and imagery very early in the collaborative process. The following seven weeks were devoted to building levels and characters, play testing, and refining the gameplay. Amaze Mad uses the Virtools Server Technology to stream levels, allowing the user to start playing as soon as the first level is loaded. Key Benefits Using minimal production resources, the Amaze Mad team, a Virtools Dev scripter, a 3D designer and a game designer, created an accessible 3D version of an old classic.
