Flashbang studios launches Sealab 2021: Sweet Mayhem made with Virtools™ technology
Montreal, Canada. November 17, 2004 - Virtools™,
the leading provider of interactive 3D authoring tools,
was chosen by Flashbang Studios to make their latest action/shooter game, Sealab 2021: Sweet Mayhem, based on a TV show aired during Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block.
In the wake of Beesly's Buzzwords success, Flashbang Studios renewed its confidence in Virtools technology and used the Software Suite to produce another stunning real-time 3D downloadable game. Flashbang Studios built the gameplay on the robust physics engine, to create an immersive and fun player experience with a high degree of replayability. The Virtools Physics Pack also played a key role in scripting the highly interactive gameplay while maintaining an aggressive development timeline.
“We were able to move from design documents and a prototype to a completed game in less than three months. The Virtools Software Suite provided a well-oiled content pipeline, the tools necessary to support a team, and the flexibility to support such a rapid development schedule,” said Matthew Wegner, Development Director at Flashbang Studios.
Virgile Delporte, VP Sales Americas for Virtools Canada Inc., added, “With this game, Flashbang raises the bar for the downloadable market. Thanks to Virtools technology, they were able to deliver outstanding results under tight deadlines, maximizing value in the low-cost downloadable market.”
