The Banff Centre integrates Virtools technology
in their Advanced Research and Technology visualization laboratory
Montreal, Canada. May 25, 2004 - Virtools™, the
leading provider of interactive 3D authoring tools,
is proud to announce that its technology was chosen by the
prestigious Banff Centre in their visualization laboratory.
The Banff Centre will be using Virtools in the Advanced Research
and Technology (ART) visualization laboratory, for the creation
of new media works involving virtual reality, visualization, artificial
intelligence, and responsive immersive environments. "The
Virtools suite of tools fits perfectly in our production and research
environment where we need quick turnaround from conception to production
without compromising artistic expression. At the end of production we can seamlessly
exhibit the art works both in the virtual reality cave and on the web",
said Dr. Maria Lantin, Lab Manager and Principal Researcher.
“Virtools has become in the last couple of years -since the first release of
the VR Pack, a new reference for PC based Virtual Reality. Our software suite
represents the combination of an extremely powerful authoring tool and a state
of the art 3D render engine, and enables to create highly interactive application
in record time, while dramatically reducing the hardware costs previously associated
with VR. The market reacts very well to our software suite, and we warmly welcome
the prestigious Banff University into the fast growing number of North American
references” said Virgile Delporte , VP sales Americas of Virtools Canada Inc.
