Montreal, March 2, 2004 – Virtools Canada
Inc. and Galilea Production announce today the release of the
highly anticipated adventure game " Jack The Ripper",
published in the United States and Canada by Dreamcatcher and
developed by Galilea with Virtools technology. The game is
available in North America since January 29, 2004.
“Jack The Ripper”, awarded as the best adventure game of the
show at the "IGN PC Best of E3 2003 awards", uses quality
graphics, a powerful technology and an effective gameplay in order
to create a sensational and terrifying experience to the player.
"Jack The Ripper is the first production using Virtools
technology, and it was a positive experience all along the production" says
Philippe Gaudé, VP Development of Galilea. "Virtools
is a stable development platform, mature and easily adaptable to
our work organization. We were very impressed by Virtools solutions
and the ease of integration our own zCube technology into it."
Virgile Delporte , VP Sales Americas Of Virtools Canada Inc, is "glad
that Galilea trusted Virtools for this ambitious project. The quality
of the graphics and the gameplay of Jack the Ripper demonstrate
the power of our solutions on the adventure game segment. Moreover,
the use of our technology helped Galilea to dramatically reduce
the development time."
Virtools provides game studios the technology they need to develop
complex, high-quality 3D games (PC, Xbox and Mac) in record time,
making it possible to develop increasingly sophisticated games,
within controlled time and budgets.
Galilea joined the list of existing clients and partners
like Electronic Arts, Microsoft Ensemble Studios, Dreamcatcher,
Blue Fang Games, Warner Bros Online and Microids which have already
chosen Virtools Dev to create prototypes and complete games in
record time while keeping technical and economic risks under control.
