Category : Interactive 3D Applications / Technology

Virtools and AIT collaborate to train AIT students with the most comprehensive solutions for real time interactive 3D technology.

Montreal, February 16, 2004 - Virtools™, the leading provider of interactive 3D authoring tools, is pleased to announce its collaboration with the AIT, Academy Information Technology, a renowned Australian IT college based in Sydney.

Virtools publishes a suite of software solutions used to create interactive 3D applications for simulation/virtual reality, as well as video games and marketing/multimedia applications. Virtools' revolutionary interactive 3D technology makes learning complex game or multimedia production easier than ever before. More and more universities are taking advantage of this opportunity by introducing Virtools’ solutions to their arsenal of teaching tools. Dev's user-friendly graphic interface is the perfect introduction to interactive 3D media, whether students have a foundation in programming or not.

The Computer Games Industry is vastly expanding with the rapid increase in games designed for Playstation 2, Xbox, Game Cube and PC. Games are also being designed for the Internet.

AIT Institute’s Advanced Diploma programs are designed for students who want to combine artistic expression with the technology applied in interactive games. The game Design, Games Programming, Animation and MoCap programs aim to give students the flexibility to enter various areas of gaming.

AIT’s program grounds students in the basics of artistic expression with courses such as design illustrations and classical animation. Students are encouraged to use their creativity to explore the vast possibilities of games design and production. They lean 3D software such as 3ds max and Virtools, and they now use game engines from Virtools to create their own interactive entertainment.

The program also lays the foundation for further advancement in the industry.

Many universities are already using Virtools technology like New York University, The Academy of Art College of San Francisco, the University of Calgary, Laval University and the Imaging Research Center of UMBC.
